The Old Salento Road is not a birding destination on its own, but in the afternoon on trips returning from Cocora or Camino Nacional it is a really scenic drive that winds its way through shady coffee farms and past the confluence of Rio Quindio and Rio Navarco. There are several picturesque cafes along the way that are nice to stop at if you like mid-afternoon coffee and a snack. This road adds about 45 minutes to the return drive from the Salento area, not counting stops.
